6. Election of the Committee for coming year In accordance with the current constitution, the President, John Kent, having served three years as president, cannot stand for a position on the committee at this election. All other positions will be declared vacant and the incumbent members are entitled to stand for reelection.
Special Business
7. Special Resolution: That we adopt a new constitution based on the Model Constitution from the Associations Incorporations Regulations 2016. Refer to the attached Explanatory Statement. In accordance with section 39 of the Associations Incorporation Act a special resolution required that at least 75% of votes cast by members entitled to vote be in favour of the resolution for it to be passed.
Notes Nomination forms for committee positions are available at the Shed. Nominations are required for President, Secretary, Treasurer and four ordinary committee members. Should you be unable to attend the Annual General Meeting, you may vote by proxy. Each member is entitled to appoint a proxy, who must be a member of the shed. No member is allowed to hold more than five proxies. A proxy appointment form is enclosed with this notice. Completed proxies need to be in the hands of the Secretary by 9.00am on 22nd November 2016. Refreshments will be available after the meeting.
